Sports medicine
Sport is generally something positive. Most people play sports because they enjoy them. For some, exercise is more about the health benefits they want to maintain through regular exercise. Athletes pursue their individual goals in recreational and competitive sports. However, such athletic activity can lead to health problems, which primarily affect the musculoskeletal system. The field of sports medicine deals with acute sports injuries and chronic issues caused by overexertion.
We take care of your sports-related issues and will do everything we can to get you back on track to achieving your athletic goals, whatever they may be!
A wide field
Sports medicine is dedicated to the influence of exercise and training on health as well as the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of injuries and damage in active sports. Muscle strains, ligament and muscle fibre tears as well as tendon injuries are structural tissue damage as a result of acute injuries. There are also issues of chronic overloading that make themselves felt in the form of signs of wear and tear. Sports injuries caused by external factors often result from incorrect training methods, unsuitable sports equipment or incorrectly learned movement sequences, which lead to incorrect posture and strain.
Individual types of treatment and prevention
In our practice we look after many active competitive athletes and ambitious amateur athletes. For this group, we offer more than treatment of acute and chronic symptoms with appropriate conservative methods. Conservative treatment means that we avoid surgical interventions. Our treatment methods are derived from various medical fields. Traditional measures such as physiotherapy are used as well as modern physical therapies, which include shock wave therapy, for example.
In terms of our holistic approach, we look at where your problems are derived from. To take stock, we use computer-aided methods for movement analysis. We also use these successfully to prevent injuries and damage due to sports. We look after beginning and experienced athletes individually, among other things with a comprehensive medical check-up. In this, we explain to interested athletes about the strains that the sport they practice exert on the musculoskeletal system, the problems that could arise for them specifically and the possible preventive measures to be taken.
Rehabilitation
Our orthopaedic care also includes aftercare for serious injuries. After an operation, we create a rehabilitation plan tailored to your needs so that you can resume your active lifestyle as quickly as possible and without any restrictions. We’ll get you moving again!
